New Tech Wednesday

This post takews part in Randy Elrod’s Watercooler Wednesday.

Bruce Willis- The Surrogates

Okay, this post is a day early, but so what!

I over heard some co-workers today talking about a movie that is being filmed in our city, Worcester. There are tons of trailers and tractor-trailers lining the streets just up the road from my office. I discovered that it is this movie that they are currently filming, and will be filming it until August 2008.

For those of you wondering, The Surrogates is based off a graphic novel by the same name. It looks like it will be pretty interesting, and is due out sometime in 2009. One thing that kind of irks me is that when I did a search for this movie, most sites did not include Worcester as a city being filmed in, or you could only find reference a page or two into the article.

Hey, no hard feelings though…right IMDB.com and Movieweb.com.  I’ll keep you all posted on the progress, and any “Star” sightings!

New Tech Wednesday

A fellow Twitter of mine posted his praise for this site this morning. The concept for this site is pretty remarkable, and kind of adveturous for those who choose to participate.

You elect to purchase “Something” from them for $10. They ship “Something” to you at no extra charge, and when “Something” arrives you open it and find out what it is. Sounds kind of ridiculous, maybe a waste of $10, but I placed an order for myself and one for my mom.  (It is for her birthday)

The company boasts that Your Something May Be Anything.

It may be something you need, something you want or something you desire.

Yours may be a cool gadget, rare book, table game, handmade necklace, reverse clock, box of gourmet chocolates, set of shiny shower curtains, popular video game, big-box retailer gift card, the latest version of a software, a set of kitchen knives, a pair of designer jeans, garden tool, kitchen appliance, unique home decor item, electronic equipment, magazine subscription, office supply item, or …

Your something will most likely be brand new, though it may also be refurbished or antique.

This is in their own words:

SomethingStore is a fun new website that operates simply: We will send you something, an item selected randomly among many things from our inventory, for $10 (free shipping) and you will find out what your something is when you receive it.

What will yours be?

New Tech Wednesdays

Well good morning to you all. Today starts the New Tech Wednesdays here at ADS (AKA AlDancySpeaks). Here’s how it will work:

I will put up a post about something related to technology. It may be a new website, something in the news, something interesting to me, etc. Feel free to comment with your thoughts, or suggestions of sites.

So here is what I got:

I found this new site Musicovery.com, which allows you to customize your music through them. They offer a free service and a pay. The free service allows you to select from different genres, different decades, parts of decades, and then select the mood you want.

I chose the 70’s, with a side of energetic, which got me a list of songs, as you can see below. Right now I’m listening to The Jackson Five “Blame it on the Boogie.”

What are you listening to?

Livin’ Out Loud,

Al
